After celebrating Eric’s birthday and Valentine’s day at Hot Pot City, Les kindly took us to Panic and showed us around.

The tour was rather exciting, especially since we have already heard so much about it – The 7-men team that develops some of the best Mac software out there (Transmit, Unison, and CandyBar). Unlike most working places, Panic is a fun place to work according to Les, “I have to put on my headphone so I can get work done, otherwise I’ll just keep laughing because my coworkers are too funny,” said Les. Panic started out with two people developing Audion at their own apartment, but since then the workforce has more than tripled (to seven people) and has international relations (with Japan).

The headquarter is located in Pearl District of Portland, with overpriced condos and classy furnature stores surrounding it, Panic is a rarity in its location. The clean hallway and uber tall ceiling elevator, it all leads to the firm that makes power apps for Mac. One picture means a thousand words, I have 34,000 words then.

The new $2,568,000,000,000 budget for 2006 will fund training liars so the free world will strike Iran after they are done practicing, more over, R&D for weapon of not-so-mass destruction so they will free the Middle East with just some minor genocides that will soon be called a victory.

Will PS3 be a overpriced game console? I don’t know, but for sure though that it should be able to last for years to come. Perhaps even virtual reality games!

After reading Google News after months of not years now, it has come to my attention that this used-to-be-wonder news syndicator will fail if they don’t change their news selection criteria soon.

News, is suppose to be not only informative, but provides unbiased information that are accurate and concise. And what do we have now on Google News? A bunch of ugly blogs that posts nothing but their personal opinions. This proposes two problems: 1. The overcrowded information; if any big event happens, thousands of blogs will basically comment on the same thing, making important news not showing up. 2. The information are presented with 90% bias and 10% actual events. Totally lame.

If anybody knows any good news syndicator, please let me know.

Simple, two reasons. POP3 is bad, hard to keep your local computer in synchronized with the server. Secondly, the web interface of Gmail is superior, it’s the easiest, simpliest, cleanest environment ever.

After playing Firefox for the last few days, I am very pleased with the updated version. It is faster, and the added features are reasons why IE is pure junk compare to FF. Yet, what happened to Thunderbird? 0.8 is out, but after using it for 10 minutes, I had to switch back to Outlook. Performance-wise, Thunderbird loads faster, and loads emails way faster than Outlook, but there is just one feature I loved in Outlook so much that Thunderbird doesn’t have – Outlook is able to organize all of your emails by days, such as “This week”, “Last week”, “Two weeks ago”, and such in a tree view fashion. If there is an extension that does that for Thunderbird, I wouldn’t hesitate on switching.
