A couple of weeks I took my Camry to the local dealer because the driver seat squeak whenever there is an uneven distribution of weight on the seat. (ie, when I first sit in, or accelerating or decelerating.) After their close examining, they have determine it was the frame under the that was faulty, and surprising, the part is backordered nationwide for 52 units. They finally called me up last week telling me that the part has arrived, and I took it in yesterday to get it replaced.

The replacement of the frame did the job fine, the squeaky noise is gone, however, now the airbag-error light is on on the dashboard, so I’ll have to take it back again tomorrow to let them fix that. Weird.

It is final. The old Camry is still not fixed. It worked fine for two days until it started to choke on the old problem again. Either way, my parents have helped me to get a new car by paying the down payment, and I will be paying monthly bills for three years.

The new car I got is a brand new 2004 Camry LE, silver exterior color. It has mostly the basic stuff, and nothing fancy. But it does fit my needs perfectly. The new Camry is a lot larger compare to the old one, even though the controls are still the same (which is good so I wouldn’t have to learn how to drive again), some of the things have been relocated (such as the cup holder).

Anyway, the problem has been fixed, and it works like a charm now.

Yet again, yes, again, my car has died on me. After eating with Barry and Tony at Bento, I tried to drove to Starbucks so I could study with Tony. However, the car simply won’t start. Due to desparation I slamed on the gas petal and turned the car, after about 7 seconds of DoS, the car finally started. First thing I did was driving to the repair shop, and hoping that the warrenty will cover it, since it has only been fixed since this morning.

I am now looking at new cars to purchase, most likely a new Camry. I’d like to have moon roof and keyless entry this time though. And perhaps wait til the end of year for their end-of-year sale.

After work today, Nolen and I took my car to local Knechts’s store to check on my car. After walk into the store, a nice guy has greeted me at the door, and checked my alternator. As it turned out, my alternator is fine, but the connection to the battery was lose. He also helped me replacing spark plugs, which were old, but not in terribly bad condition.

After my classes I took my car to Oil Can Henry’s for a coolant change, however, after the change my car was unable to start. And eventually they people there were able to jump my car, and I called John and Phil’s for a car fix. However, half way over there, my car died on Philomath Highway and 26th, right before the intersection. While cars keep passing me by, a kind woman parked behind me and helped me push the car to the side of the road. However, after the car got to the side of the road, it had enough power to start the car. So finally, thanks to the nice kind lady, my car now rests in the Toyota service center.

Now as for the future, my mom have told me to check into another car for buying. Asked how much the budget is, she says as long as it’s cheap. Asked again what the budget is, she says as long as it’s cheaper than market / street price. Well then, in that case I’ll be doing some research tonight.

Now it’s official that my car does not like Barry. Fist the flat tire, and now a possible dead alternator/starter.

After the nice dinner at Bento, we have decided to go to Fred Meyer, and on the way there I have noticed a weird “loss” feeling of the car when I let go of the break. And after we shopped at Fred Meyer, the car would not start easily. While driving I have noticed the car keep wanting to die on me. So we took it to K-Mart for some battery replacement (as a possible fualt of the mess).

That’s where all things goes wrong, first we carried a 30 lbs battery out, then noticed it was the wrong size. After we exchanged the battery, we noticed it was slightly narrower than the one old, which made it impossible to tie down to the battery panel. We were constantly going in and out of the store looking for better tools. Eventually we gave up trying to secure the battery, thinking that the weight itself will hold it tight to the car.

It is still unknown why the car would have this problem – several possibilities have been listed. 1. Dead battery (which will no longer be the case). 2. Bad alternator (as Barry suggestded). 3. Bad starter (what Dad suggested and also from my past experience, the feeling of the car felt the same as a previous incident)

What to hope for? Hoping Dad would export his 2000 Ford Scorpio to the US for me
