If someone has rejected your friend request it will be gone - so if you do a search for them, find their listing and can re-request, then they have rejected it. If you decide to withdraw your friend request (something I wanted to do) then go to your privacy settings and block, then unblock (if you want to) that person you made the request with. We have experimented with this and your friend request will have disappeared. It makes you feel a lot better if you have made a request that you later on regret. We have conducted an experiment.
