what about DSL? Infinity Internet looks pretty good. They picked up the phone as soon as I called – no hold music!

We use Infinity Internet for colocation. They are a good company.

All depends on what you need I guess.

I’ve lived in two high density neighborhoods in Portland since moving back, and enjoyed very good speeds with Comcast so far. So, that’s why I’m still with them for now. Because its good in the hood. Its been trouble-free since installation, and provided plenty of bandwidth for three roomies who all do a good amount of filesharing and gaming.

I avoided DSL this time around because, comparing prices, it was a bit more expensive. And last year I found out how a DSL connection comparable in price to cable is not enough for 3 people to enjoy. Nothing was more aggravating than one person starting a RealPlayer stream, and the other person instantly lagging out in a game.

    Yeah I hear ya Leslie-P.

This connection would only be for 2 people so maybe cable is the way best to go. What’s funny is I always thought that cable bandwidth was split by neighborhoods, and more people downloading on your block meant less bandwidth for you. I heard plenty of people down in Corvallis say that Comcast is good in the summer, but crappy when the students are in town. Actually, I heard this a long time ago, and it was ATT back then.
