According to Gmail news, they are planning on support POP3 for Gmail, that’s great – for those people who will use POP3. I, for one, will not use it. Why?
Simple, two reasons. POP3 is bad, hard to keep your local computer in synchronized with the server. Secondly, the web interface of Gmail is superior, it’s the easiest, simpliest, cleanest environment ever.

with google, imap is not unlikely…:smile:
but with my second reason, i would still use the web mail.
