Well, I have been in Sherbrooke for two weeks now and things are going well. It has gotten colder this last week, ranging from -30 degrees Celcius to -45C, with lots of wind and some snow, yet I have managed to survive….. I have a very good view from my bedroom window which is on the third floor of my building, and from which I can see the lights of the city all around. My classes have been going pretty well so far, although I still have a hard time understanding everything as a result of having only limited french and also because the accent here is different from that which I learned at OSU. There are very many friendly people here in my doorm and on my floor, so that is nice. Today one of the girls from Japan showed me how to use the undergroud passageways to get to the library….but man, it is sort of scary under there! I wouldn’t want to go there alone! The walls are covered in grafitti, and pictures, and there are big pipes running along the walls as well as many doors with signs that say “Danger, High volage” etc. It really is quite interesting, and I will have to take some pictures to put in my album. There are, however, security cameras, so I am sure that it is perfectly safe under there. The good thing is that there are many signs pointing the way to the student bar, and since that is where I get out of the tunnels to go to my dorm, I always know my way back home! Hehehehe! Well, that is about all of my news for now. Untill next time……
