Have you ever seen a newborn baby? Well, On August 26, 2003 my sister Jamie had the sweetest baby I have ever seen (and I have seen a lot of cute babies) named Keziah Jaden Richter. She was 7 lbs 7 ounces at birth, and was 20 3/4 inches long. She currently has blue eyes and dark hair that will probably fall out.
Jamie went into labor in the morning last tuesday, but due to having false contractions for nearly a month, she was not quite sure that she was really going to have the baby. When her husband steve came home, they went to the doctor, and found out that she was about to have her baby! They went immediately to the hospital where Steve called us and his own parents…and meanwhile Jamie had the baby an hour later at 5:51pm. We got there around eight, which was a pretty good time because it gave everybody time to get cleaned up and feeling good enough to have visitors. Jamie looked very well, and the Keziah was not squished up at all (probably as a result of the short labor).
On Sunday we made another trip to see the proud new parents and their darling daughter, and I finally got to hold her…. She is very sweet and quite alert for her age. She has a nose like Steve, with the tip like Jamie’s nose. She obviously got Jamie’s lips–all pouty and such…:p She also likes to blow Joe Chang kisses (he he! I like to tease her dad that she is a flirt from birth) and she also likes to peak at whoever is holding her when that person is looking the other way……
Well, I don’t really know what else to say except that I am very glad to be an “Aunt Sammy”!
